The awards are fan-based, and have no connection to any commercial sponsor. Each year&#8217;s nominees are finalized by classic horror fan David Colton (<a class=\"style2\" href=\"mailto:taraco@aol.com\">taraco@aol.com<\/a>), with the help of other classic horror fans from around the world, and with expertise in all parts of fandom.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><b> \u00a0 Voting is then handled by an e-mail sent to <a class=\"style3\" href=\"mailto:taraco@aol.com\">taraco@aol.com<\/a>.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<h4><strong>The actual ballot for the 24th Annual Awards was posted here at <a href=\"http:\/\/rondoaward.com\">rondoaward.com<\/a> and at the <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tapatalk.com\/groups\/monsterkidclassichorrorforum\/posting.php?mode=edit&amp;f=100&amp;p=1954988\">Classic Horror Film Board\u00a0 <\/a><\/strong><strong>\u00a0 starting on Friday, March 20, 2026. Voting then began by email.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h4><strong>Voting is by an email sent to <a href=\"mailto:taraco@aol.com\">taraco@aol.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>VOTING WILL END ON Friday night, May 1, 2026 at midnight.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>After the thousands of emails are tabulated, winners will be announced here and on the CHFB soon after.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0\u00a0 RULES: All work must have appeared in 2025. In some cases, work may have been published or available late in 2024.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8212; Voters can vote in as many or as few categories as they want.\u00a0 All ballots &#8212; either cut-and-pasted or typed &#8212; must be emailed to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:taraco@aol.com\">taraco@aol.com<\/a>.\u00a0 <em>All votes will be kept strictly confidential. No e-mail addresses, names or choices will ever be shared with anyone.<\/em><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8212; In all categories, votes are for work produced in the previous year. Example: In write-in categories such as Best Writer and Best Artist, for example, creators need to have produced a substantial amount of work in 2025. It is not a vote simply for your favorite writer or artist in general.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0\u00a0 &#8212; In the Best Book category, reissues of books are not normally eligible unless the book has been substantially revised, or its re-appearance is in itself noteworthy.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0 &#8212; In the Best Magazine category, at least one issue of the magazine must have appeared in 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0 &#8212; In the Best Website category, the website needs to have had substantially new content in 2025. Similarly, the Favorite Horror Host category will only include hosts active in 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0 &#8212; Write-ins are accepted and counted.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0 &#8212; It is perfectly permissable to post on your or other websites about the Rondos, to urge fans to vote &#8212; for you or others &#8212; and to generally share the excitement of the awards.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>&#8212; But overly organized voting campaigns are strongly discouraged and can result, at the sole discretion of the Rondo Awards Program, in a warning or even disqualification.
